The question, “Who are you?”
is both so simple and yet so unintentionally loaded.
In the face of those three words you can’t help but feel both the genius and the idiot.
The brilliance answers quickly:
The idiocy answers nothing…
left lost in the depths of thought
questioning the question
“Who am I really?”
The intention of the question poser aside,
Who I am is more than just a name and title.
I cannot be summed into the perfect response,
nor do I wish to be.
So I’d perhaps prefer
an idiot with thoughts deep and wide
to a genius with thoughts shallow and near.
Because my silence
it speaks volumes
to all those with ears to hear.
